Paiste 2002 cymbals were imagined early in the late 1970's and early 1980's as part of a fusion of percussion cymbals to fuse black beat rock cymbals with the giant beat cymbals of the previous decade that started in 1967.
The Paiste 2002 series were a new formulated kind of percussion cymbal designed to deal with the increasing level of projection in music, such as progressive rock predominantly, but for drummers who also wanted a more sophisticated sound than the aggressive cymbals that musicians currently used.
Proving itself to be one of the most popular cymbals in Paiste history the 2002 series was used by bands and drummers such as Nick Mason with Pink Floyd and Stuart Copeland with The Police which helped Paiste occupy a unique space in the cymbal arena.
This was due to the certain type of design formula Paiste used that stands them apart and makes them completely unique from all other cymbal manufacturers, giving a very pure and clean sound, reflecting the culture they come from, as opposed to the dirty and complex sounds of all other Turkish brands which even includes Zildjin.
We have a great range of Paiste 2002 Series cymbals along with many other Zildjian series cymbals in stock to buy at Footesmusic.
